The Brit (12:46:56) :

I will await the “You’ll Change Your Mind” article with interest, you raise some interesting points, in my experience I notice a change in a womans behaviour as a relationship develops, whilst at the start of a relationship the “baby” word will never come up for fear of scaring the guy off, as the relationship develops and a “future” becomes a distinct possibility baby fever will start to set in. Needless to say the future of the relationship is pretty much terminated at this point.

I have met a number of people who on initial meeting have not wanted children only for them to do a U-turn as the relationship developed. Referencing your article I find that people with children often fail to recoginise the negative impact this can have on other peoples. Living in a condo it was a “great day” when the couple living next door, screaming baby and all decided to move up. Whilst I may sometimes upset my neighbours with the TV or Music playing too loud, I am familiar with how to operate the volume control if someone complains. The mum/dad of a newborn appear to have no ability whatsoever to control the ear-piercing din that is coming from their home.

Err.. maybe you’re The One? Seriously, TB - thanks for this comment, very interesting to have another perspective. I’ve actually taken some artistic licence and directly quoted your comment in the actual post as I think it’s worth highlighting.
As to the women who use this ploy - I can only say that as an approach it’s lousy. It also makes it much harder for other women who ARE and who DO intend to be childfree and want to meet like minded men - who probably find it that much harder to believe them.
