New Wordpress Plugins - Edit or Simply Preview Your Comments….
7 04 2007Not a lot gets by Timethief that’s for sure! She’s the first to notice the new comment additions.
I’ve found yet another cool WordPress plugin that I hope commentators will find useful. Now you can edit your comments before you post! If you’re like me, there are times when the key is just to get the thoughts down, or you’re in a hurry and your fingers are flying across your keyboard. You read back over your comment and it looks ok. You hit Submit Comment. Of course only THEN (cue Psycho music!) do you notice the typo you’re positive wasn’t there before. Arrrrgh!
But what to do?With WP Ajax Edit Comments you now have the ability to edit your comments. Hover over your comment once you’ve left it and you will be able to edit it for a specified time. Wouldn’t it be nice to find this on every blog? Hopefully it will make commenting easier for all.
It’s my way of saying thank you for commenting on Like It Is. Thanks to the Reader Appreciation Project for this useful plugin.
And preview comments too!
Happy with your comment and simply wish to preview? Then just click preview before posting and you’ll be able to preview your comments before you post. Just another option that I’ve wanted to have on here for a long time.
Credit to Il Filosofo for the Filosofo Comments Preview Plugin.
If you have any problems with either of these, please email me and let me know.
Enjoy!

Thanks so much for installing this plug-in. As I’m visually impaired I find it very useful.
interesting, i’ve always used JAL edit comments(which lets users edit inside the standard comment box), and i’ve been testing the live comment preview. nice alternatives.
Hey Adam - I had a look at JALedit comments and the first thing reason why I wouldn’t have considered it is this:
“The readme is quite extensive, due to the difficulty of installation. I’ve simplified it as much as I could…”
Those words “difficulty of installation” and “extensive readme” are enough to send me looking elsewhere. I like simple - upload and install. I hate messing around in .php unless I am really sure what I am doing. And I always read the plugin comment threads before I install….if I feel there is too much need to go into the code I pass. You’re more comfortable with code so you’ve probably a higher level of comfort than I - a non-techie - have.
Judging by the long list of comments left in the JAL thread - and their subject(s) , I think I’m a lot better off with WP AJAX Edit Comments!
I’m used to the comment preview plugin because it’s similar to the one on Blogger blogs… I think more WPress blogs should have it (or some similar preview tool).
