It's not an easy book to read, I had to put it down many times because I was so upset. Agree totally with all of you. Old-fashioned racism, my friend. The West doesn't care about AIDS in Africa for the same reason they don't care about Darfur, Somalia, blood diamonds or the crisis in the Congo. The death toll could be on a monumental scale. They could have the longest wars, the bloodiest genocides, the worst epidemics, but to the West, it's just a bunch of black people dying anyway.
