One thing I noticed...the 40 year-old wants a DNA replicate, but it's not her DNA. If the egg was donated by a 20 year-old beauty queen, then it's her DNA, not the mother's. So the kid's not really the 40 year-old's DNA replicate after all, so what the hell's the point?

but its when you turn achild into an object, you want this you want that, thats the time you have a chance of a disconnection from it.

a lot of birth parents, have no connection to their children as can be seen by the child abuse. the birth mother probably didnt want the child so put it up for adoption, that shows an obvious disconnection to that child.

Given that I was adopted at 5 yrs old I might have a different take on this issue.I do not a agree with trying to guarantee your child's beauty but I do think a non-bio parent can have a connection to a child. My mother is my adoptive mother technically, but to me she is no less of a mother to me than if she gave me birth. In fact I have more of a connection to her than I do with my bio-mother and I have met her.Connection to a child is not based on biology but on love and nurturing.

oh they are doing something similare here in the uk, its called save our sibling program.. they choose the next child to save the first child, they pick and choose the "correct" DNA. effectively they use it as spare parts..

I think I remember seeing a graphic somewhere with a child wrapped up in saran with a sticker on it like a piece of meat you'd buy in a supermarket ("white, blue eyes, brown hair, etc.").

We're getting closer to it every day! Place your order now!

Loved that last bit in the post...

"Anyway, to answer your earlier questions: yes, the hot one donated her eggs, the minority one donated her uterus, and we have serious doubts about the use of the word "donated" in this context. Also: something sketchy happened where Beth had to forbid Sylvia, the Mexican-American, from "visiting" New York on account of the surrogacy laws .... and blah blah blah Cartier bracelet."

Goodness gracious!
