The Halo is Slipping
Britgirl | September 5, 2008 | 6:04 pmSo Brad has it easy does he? And Jolie is reportedly finding it hard to cope. What a surprise… not.
It’s not easy being a saint.
“She cries at the drop of a hat and laughs at inappropriate times.”
“Following the birth of the twins in July, Angelina has stayed in the family’s Chateau Miraval in Provence, France, and is reportedly angry at Brad for attending Italy’s Venice International Film Festival to promote his new movie ‘Burn After Reading’.
The source added to In Touch Weekly magazine: “Angelina feels that Brad has it easy. He had the kids without the pain of birth, and he can just jet off whenever he feels like it.”Well, yes. And yes.
OK, this is all “reportedly” stuff. So maybe there’ll be a denial and everything is really all sweetness and light. I wonder if it’s as “reportedly” as the wall to wall media coverage of the Brangelinas a few weeks ago… Whining that Braddie gets to jet off when he likes…excuse me while I don’t have much any sympathy.

Yet another reason why I don’t follow much about celebs and their sob stories. They’re human beings just like us, not demi-gods who are somehow impervious to life’s ills and suddenly newsworthy when they have a problem.
A while back, I kept on hearing about “humpwatches” and I was about to puke all over the newsstand. Do I care about celebrity preggo-drama!? Bleah!!
Aaaaaanyways, Brad doesn’t seem like the type of guy to sit at home with the wife and their new burden, even though there shouldn’t be any fear of them running out of cash should he have no projects for awhile.
Ya, Brad’s certianly got better things to do. Like being here in Toronto at TIFF.
And with all the money they have, I wonder they can’t get any amount of help or any number of doctors and treatments available.
I remember the “humpwatches” too. Totally boring, yet any celeb who was anything was featured on every magazine cover - all striving to to show how preggers they were. Ack.
It does seem like these types of reports about them are becoming more frequent. At least she won’t need palimony. lol
If I had 6 kids I’d be depressed too *evil grin* lol
bconrad_0101… lol.. so would I.
Honeywine… if Brad (Brangie?) has any sense he will have his financial assets soundly protected. I wouldn’t like to guess at the child support $$ he’d be paying should Angie decide she wants to be a single mum… on the basis of … well, anything really. Six kids? His life no longer belongs to him.
Oh, I don’t really believe the stories. She has a team of nannies who take care of the kids, and I doubt she spends much time with them at all. They are just trophies she collects. She picks up a new one every time the media stops following her around.
I’m not a celebrity worshiper but I do know that post partum depression can occur in any woman. My mother had 9 pregnancies and suffered from post partum depression for months on end after every birth. This may be the case here. I’m also thinking that the paparazzi aren’t doing this mother and her family a service by attempting to satiate the curiosity of her fans with these trite little stories.
Coping with a new baby is not easy when when there are two parents on board and coping with twins is twice as difficult. Being a celebrity while trying to establish a healthy spousal relationship and family relationships is also difficult.
IMO making any judgments about celebrities based on hearsay is foolish and focusing our energy and time on the rich and famous highlights how little value we place on our own priorities. Just saying …
Timethief - I don’t thing anyone is debating any facts about ppd. I’m totally with you there. After that you lost me. I would “coping with a new baby” line is tough, two, doubly tough .However this couple courts the media at every available opportunity.
The paparazzi were there at every other stage, culminating in the riduculous gushing magazine photo frenzy. I see no reason to expect them to suddenly vanish. And as for healthy spousal relationship… who? You mean Angie who ( oops, allegedly) nicked another woman’s husband?
Who’s focusing time and energy on celebrities? I trust that’s not directed at anyone on this blog, right? I wasn’t quite sure from what you wrote. There are some celebrities I like. Not many. My hubs says celebs are good for a laugh. Most are so fucked up that they can actually make some people feel pretty good about themselves ;).
@Phoena
.
I agree with you…Adopting children has became a good trick to pump up popularity for celebrity. And in the end it become like boomerang to them. Taking care the children themself is totally impossible…Meanwhile, paying their babysitter team is high cost. Reading this post make me celebrating my childfree
Celebrities adopting children for publicity is about as old of a trick as… Joan Crawford.
For crying out loud - how could Angelina NOT be depressed!?? If I was her, I’d probably have slit my wrists after baby number 12.
