You can now browse Archives by Month and Year, as well as use the Sitemap (arranged by Category) to check out other articles that may catch your fancy. I’m still tweaking the Sitemap, but wanted to provide you some additional navigation to make it easier for you to find your way around and read some of the great conversations we’ve had on Like It Is.
Enjoy!

Well, I made the announcement. Welcome everyone to my new home!
I’ve officially moved. I think things are in enough order that at least readers can read and reply to comments and still browse previous articles. If I wait until it’s perfect I’ll be tweaking forever. And I’m always going to be tweaking here and there and making changes so might as well throw my doors open right now!
Over the next few weeks I’ll be setting up things they way I want them. There are lots of goodies available now that I can literally do what I like on my blog. So, over time I’m hoping to really extend my blogging experience for myself and my visitors. One of the things I really want to have on Like It Is is an application that allows you to show what music you’ve listened to or have recently listened to. I’ve seen one that I’m going to check out in a bit more detail.
Also will be getting my feeds and subscribe tools set up, tidying up my sidebar and experimenting with different ordering of stuff. And of course posting!
That’s really what blogging’s all about after all.

I fixed the issue with the pages today. I had been wondering why they were not appearing on my site, since they were clearly available in my database. Which meant that the import had worked perfectly. I thought that pages hadn’t been imported along with my posts, and I was working myself up to cutting an pasting.
Then I did some more digging and tweaked some of the page parameters. Changed “publish” to “static”, in my sql, edited the pages from my dashboard, reset the page menu numbers, et voila! The page appeared in my blog. It was then a simple matter to edit the remaining pages.
Hurrah!
I also installed some more neat Stats tools and plugins…Mint and Google Analytics. Both marvellous. At last I’ll be able to do some proper analytics.

“Nice photo. You’ll do well on Match.com. Pity you don’t live nearer to Toronto. Watch out for the jerks.”
That’s what he wrote when he was just a handle on Match.com called AnonH from Toronto. I had a handle of a sparkier nature. I can’t even remember how I came across Match.com. I do remember that when I posted my photo and profile, I wasn’t seriously thinking that I’d meet the love of my life through it. To me, it was just another way of meeting people, but not to pin one’s hopes on and I was game to give it a try. I was proved wrong. I did meet the love of my life and today we are celebrating our third wedding anniversary.
What was amazing about how we met wasn’t just the fact that it was via the Internet on Match.com. It was the fact that if I’d not been curious we wouldn’t be together today. Read the rest of this entry »

Took me a while to write this, but did it at last. In no particular order, here are 100 things about me. I could have written a 100 things about any one area, but this was much more of an exercise. I think it’s better than writing a long missive about me, and at the very least it’s a different way of approaching the “about”. It’s by no means my original idea, I saw this approach on a couple of other blogs and thought – “nice idea.” I may play about with the list slightly. For now, it’s just a little about me. You’ll find it on my About page.
