Being childfree isn’t what defines us, but it is an important part of who we are. It means we identify as women rather than as mothers, fathers or parents. Finding products and services targeted to our needs us is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I tried it.
While there are hundreds of products and services targeted at mothers, parents and kids – including a plethora of products aimed at getting pregnant or trying to get pregnant – there are practically nil targeted at those of us who are neither parent nor wish to be. Doing a search under Childfree services brought up little, and only searching under “childfree blogs” did things look more promising. Trouble is, that search predictably brought up blogs.
Even doing a search on “Tubal Ligation” was harder than one might think
I’ve decided to use a section of Like It Is and some of my older posts to showcase products and services that I think may be interesting, informative and useful to readers here. While I can’t guarantee them being solely at our childfree folk at least there will have been some effort to at least select those for women – as opposed to just mothers. And because we are women, even those who are parents are likely to find something of interest.
I will be changing the page layout… but here’s the first product I found… an upbeat book on Hysterectomy.
The Complete Guide To Hysterectomy and Beyond!
Helpful suggestions for women thinking about having a hysterectomy, or who are about to have one and are concerned about their recovery and a whole host of other questions. Help and guidance for an experience that can be overwhelming and frightening is very welcome and there are even some cool recipes to make recovery a little more fun. Worth a read.
